Canadian Immigrant Integration Program – CIIP (Video)

Immigration is vital to Canada’s population growth and economic prosperity. Yet, while demand for their skills grows, many highly competent newcomers to Canada remain underemployed.

To address this problem, the Government of Canada funded the Association of Canadian Community Colleges to develop and implement the Canadian Immigrant Integration Program (CIIP) which prepares newcomers for economic integration while still in their country of origin. Launched in 2007, CIIP has served over 20,000 clients.

Funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, CIIP provides free pre-departure orientation to Federal Skilled Workers, Provincial Nominees, their spouses and adult dependents, while they are still overseas during the final stages of the immigration process.

CIIP helps immigrants prepare for economic success by providing information, planning and online support through partners in Canada.

CIIP offices are located in China, India, Philippines and the United Kingdom and services are available in 25 additional delivery locations.

  1. CIIP is a great service. I have met with newcomers to Canada here in Edmonton and have seen the outcome of proper assistance provided to our new Canadians before they leave their country. Please continue to send us newcomers who are on an integration path which starts in their country of origin. CIIP helps to make their journey smoother and does connect our newcomers to creditable serving agencies, this guidance from CIIP protects our vulnerable newcomers from ghost consultants who might charge them money for services which are government monitored and free. THANK YOU CIIP , Association of Canadian Community Colleges!!! Hazel Benson, Accredited Settlement and Career Development Practitioner.
