Established in 1973 and incorporated in 1974, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is one of the largest social service agencies in British Columbia, Canada. With the vision to create “A World of Multicultural Harmony”, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is well supported by its mission: to Build Bridges, Harvest Diversity and Foster Integration.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. began as a new immigrant settlement service organization which has developed into a multi-service, multicultural agency. There are over 20 service locations in Metro Vancouver of British Columbia and 2 overseas offices. Programs are delivered in culturally sensitive ways to meet the needs of the clients.

Employment Mentoring Program (EMP)

The main purpose of EMP service is to assist internationally-trained newcomer clients (i.e. mentees) with their short-term and long-term goals of finding commensurate employment in Canada by helping them better understand the labour market and take appropriate steps along their career path.

Skilled professional newcomers are matched with occupational specific mentors who are established residents familiar with the social, cultural, labour market and political systems inherent in BC/Canada in order to accelerate the settlement and integration process into Canadian society and BC communities. Immigrants in Trades Training Initiative (ITTI)

oil-worker-in-albertaImmigrants in Trades Training Initiative (ITTI) is an Industry Training Authority (ITA) funded project that assists immigrants in attaining recognized certification in the trades. The mission of ITTI is to inform, guide and support participants in choosing and accessing the appropriate resources and services to meet their goals.

In British Columbia, there are over 140 regulated trades including: carpenters, electricians, plumbers and welders; as well as bakers, cooks, hairdressers and industrial instrument mechanic, etc.

This Program Offers:

  • Free support to determine the right trade certification for you. We provide participants with information needed to decide whether to seek an apprenticeship, to seek additional training or to complete the Challenge Application for certification. Continue reading

Business Immigrant Integration Support Program

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Business Immigrant Integration Support (BIIS) program is an initiative funded by the BC Ministry of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training. BIIS provides business and settlement services for immigrants who are interested in pursuing business ownership or entrepreneurial opportunities in British Columbia. The objective of the Business Immigrant Integration Support is to accelerate the settlement and economic integration process of entrepreneurial immigrants. Services are free of charge for new and recent immigrants to Canada.

Services include:

  • Orientation and information dissemination provide resources and tools for business immigrants looking for business opportunities in BC;
