Delta’s population is about 100,000. The highest per cent of the people in the municipality are of European origins, mostly form the UK, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. There are also many immigrants from the US. 2006 Census Profile showed that 23% of the population was visible minorities, of which 12,000 people were South Asians and 5,400 Chinese.
North Delta is the most populous of the three Delta communities. Most of its residents are middle-class people who commute daily to Vancouver or to other places to work.
Ladner is a community proud of preserving the atmosphere of a 19th century fishing village. Many of its residents are involved in farming and fishing.
Tsawwassen is a rich community with beautiful houses. It is also home to the Tsawwassen Indian Reserve.
