One of the multiple opportunities for growth is the series of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These forums open doors to meet, network and grow together. More importantly, they help create a sense of community and provide an opportunity to be involved directly in shaping our global culture of inclusion at Scotiabank.

Scotiabank Intercultural Alliance (SIA) is an ERG that envisions a workplace that is diverse, inclusive and welcoming – one that facilitates innovation and inspires to participate fully in realizing your potential while contributing to build Scotiabank’s culturally competent workforce.

“We are keenly aware of issues facing newcomers in the workplace. SIA is uniquely positioned to welcome and assist New Canadians through Scotiabank’s incredibly culturally diverse community.  Scotiabankers are passionate volunteers and support New Canadians by participating as mentors in the community and providing peer support to our colleagues.”

Moin Ahmed and Hellen Asproloupos, Co Chairs, Scotiabank Intercultural

We partner with community organizations that assist newcomers to enter and succeed in the Canadian workplace.

We have a strong sense of community – this is why we partner with various organizations to include new Canadians in the work force. Some of our sponsored opportunities include:

• sector specific pre-employment training at ACCES Employment

• career advice by Scotiabankers through TRIEC’s The Mentoring Partnership program

• networking and connecting to meaningful employment through TRIEC’s Professional Immigrant Networks
