MOSAIC Family & Settlement Services is a first stop for newcomers to the Lower Mainland looking for information to smooth their integration into Canadian life. Providing free services in over 20 languages, our bilingual staff direct deliver services and/or information about the following through workshops, case management, individual appointments and/or home visitation and accompaniment:

*Annual multilingual tax clinic and tax workshops

*Civic engagement & citizenship

*Culturally-sensitive Early Childhood services & parenting support

*Culturally sensitive Family Counselling

*Culturally-sensitive violence prevention and victim services

*Education: continuing education, skills upgrades, understanding Canadian school system

*Employment: career planning, foreign credential evaluations, Canadian workplace culture and job search strategies, programs for skilled immigrants

*Financial Literacy: Canadian banking, savings plans, rules on overseas assets, starting a small business

*Healthcare: Finding a family doctor, MSP and subsidies

*Housing: rental subsidies, getting your first mortgage in Canada, buying a home, tenants’ rights

*Important documents: SIN, PR, drivers’ license, citizenship application

*Informational field trips: Courts, community resources, sites of cultural or historical significance

*Learning English and French: LINC classes and conversation circles

*Legal information and advocacy: employment standards, immigration law, wills/estates

*Pro Bono Law Clinic

*Social Benefits: EI, childcare tax benefit, tax credits

To help foster social networks among newcomers, we also provide:

*Afghan & Kurdish Support Groups: volunteering, ESL and technology classes, information field trips

*Culture Connections Social Mentoring: matching newcomers with mentors to explore the Lower Mainland and to practise English

*Multilingual Seniors Programs: ESL and technology classes, information field trips and other recreation groups

*Newcomers’ Centre for Children & Families in Burnaby with children up to 6 years of age and various multilingual parenting support groups

*Temporary Foreign Worker/Work Permit Holder Drop-in Groups

*Volunteer Programs

*Youth Activities: Youth conferences, popular theatre projects, resume clinics, a Refugee Youth Club
