PICS offers services specifically planned and designed to assist immigrants and their families successfully transition to labour market in Canada, and provide guidance with all the important steps of finding a job – from developing a personalized job search plan to offering internships in the participants’ field of expertise, to help them gain valuable experience and skills in their chosen professions.
Job Search Workshops
JSW program aims to improve labour market access outcomes for newcomers. It offers needs assessment, individual job search coaching to develop a personalized action plan, two-week workshop highlighting topics such as occupational blueprint, employer perspective, building job search skills, and effective networking.
The Pre-Employment Development Program assists immigrants, who are recipients of Ontario Works benefits, to successfully transition into the labour market by developing job search techniques including resume and cover letter writing, job interview preparation, as well as planning for skills upgrading to match the requirements of desired occupation and land a job.
Internships and Mentorships
Unpaid work placements are offered to newcomers in their field of expertise, with mentorship and networking opportunities. Some prerequisites may apply.
